Cam's Cayenne Beer & Bacon Nuts

You could start with the fact that one of the ingredients in this mix is the worlds most perfect food, but when you add in the rest…WHAM-BAM!

3 to 4 Cups – Your favorite variety of Mixed Nuts

1 Cup – Brown Sugar

6 Slices – Bacon, uncooked and chopped into more or less ¼ inch square pieces

1 Tbsp – Salt

1 Tsp – Cayenne Pepper

1/3 Cup – Beer.  Drink the rest.  It’ll make the rest of the cooking process even better.

Bring the Beer, Sugar, Salt, Pepper and Bacon to a boil in a pot for eight minutes.  That’s just long enough to evaporate the alcohol from the beer.

Toss in the Mixed Nuts, stir until well coated then spread on a baking sheet.

Bake for ten minutes at 350-degrees, much longer than that and the nuts will be burned

Spread out onto another baking pan or flat surface to cool.  Sprinkle on some additional salt if you want.

Serve’m up...

(Oh, and on the unlikely chance there’s some left, I’d just toss it. You don’t want to store it away on a shelf with the bacon in it.)
